Work and Life

As most people do, I wear many hats over the course of a day/week/lifetime.  I’ve been married, divorced; lived alone and with room mates; taken care of myself, cared for others; so many different roles I’ve played–and all of them were and are important to me.  In fact, all these roles I’ve played, these jobs I’ve performed, have helped make me who I am today.  I don’t know if that’s necessarily a good thing, but (as Popeye said) “I Yam What I Yam!”

Part of what I am is a full-fledged, card-carrying Type A personality.  I think I started out as a regular hard-worker; but somewhere along the way, I became a little obsessive about it.  I have trouble stopping sometimes; especially if I feel a job is unfinished.  In my head, I’ve joked with myself about joining a 12-step program–Hi, I’m Ann; and I can’t stop working……

So at what point do  you find yourself doing too much?  Nowadays, it seems to be that everyone, everywhere is being told (especially at work) that we must “do more with less;” more work, more responsibility, less people, less time–and universally, less money.  Many people, me included, have supplemented their income with a second or even third job; some have gone as far as me to  have multiple jobs.

But with only so many hours in a day, how can that work?  The best and most fun way I’ve found is with direct sales.  Some people (you know who you are) equate direct sales with that old image of a used car salesman; but that’s not the case.  When you work for yourself, you pick your hours, you pick your focus, you set your goals and you decide how to reach them.

Currently I’m working full-time during the week, part-time on the weekends at a friend’s boutique and on my own time as a Party Plan Diva sharing BeautiControl products and introducing people to the benefits of Spa Escapes at Home!

Choose a Business with Products You Love

Spa Escape PartySome people think they should start their own business, but there are so many ready-made plans out there that it boggles the mind.  You can sign up to become an independent consultant for anything from wine, to food, clothes to accessories.  In fact, I’m proud to say that last holiday season almost all my gift shopping was done through my direct sales connections.

If you are considering ways to make your dollars stretch a little farther you should take a look at the opportunities available with BeautiControl; spending just a few hours a week can bring you $100 or more.  And right now, through July 21, 2011, you can start your own business for only $99; spa yourself and your friends, plus you can earn up to $1000 with the contents of your Spa Now Case.

For just $99 (regularly $125), you can spa yourself at home and enjoy your products at a discount; or you can spa your family, friends and more, earning money, trip incentives, free gifts and making friends for life.  If you’d like more information about BeautiControl, the products I carry or how to become a BeautiControl Spa Consultant, just contact me here and I’ll be happy to send you more information.

  2. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Great post Ann. Direct sales is definitely a great business to be in. Instead of working your lifestyle around your job, your job can be a part of your lifestyle.
