Green Tomato Grill Review & Give Away Closed

I was given lunch, tasting some of the seasonal menu available at the Green Tomato Grill; all photos and opinions are my own. In fact, I’ve eaten here several times before and after my review (and intend to again!) My first experience with the Green Tomato Grill was when I attended a crafting day at The Makery with my blogging group this summer. Green Tomato Grill provided us with a delicious lunch, which we all gobbled up (at least I did!). Since then, I discovered that they are right down the street from my office; and are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Green Tomato Grill Desserts

Fast, Healthy, Tasty

Opening their doors in January of 2013, the Green Tomato Grill and Chef Kyle Markt wanted to offer a fast, healthy, good-tasting dining spot in central Orange County; and they have surely succeeded. They pride themselves on being able to use locally-sourced, grown, baked and produced ingredients as much as possible.  Their desserts come from Sensitive Sweets, so they are gluten-free, casein (dairy)-free, egg-free, soy & nut-free,  but definitely TASTY! When you first walk into the Green Tomato Grill, you are presented with several choices for your meal–Rice Bowl, Flat Bread Melt, Wrap, Salad or Stew. From there you choose your “protein,” ranging from chicken, steak, shrimp, crispy lemongrass tofu, or the seasonal choice of pan-seared salmon. Then you add your sauce or dressing (all freshly made) and any extra veggies you’d like. They have some standard menu choices available, if you’re like me and easily overwhelmed by all the delicious choices available; and if you’re into something else, they are really, really accommodating and happy to put together your own choice combination.

Green Tomato Grill Salmon SaladMy Personal Fave

Right now, I’d have to say that their Salmon Salad is my favorite (although this could change as soon as my next visit).  The salad is chock-full of fresh, locally grown veggies, chunks of goat cheese, pistachios and dried cranberries, topped with big chunks of freshly cooked salmon and served with a warm tomato and onion balsamic dressing.  My mouth is watering even as I write this. We added some butternut squash soup and their seasonal maple pumpkin popcorn; and it was difficult to finish lunch (let alone think about dinner that night!). By the way, did you know that Green Tomato Grill carries a nice selection of wine and beer, in addition to their delicious coffee and teas?

More than just Lunch

If you’re looking for a healthy breakfast option, once again, the Green Tomato Grill delivers. Breakfast bowls, burritos and more; that’s next on my list of things to try, because you know I will be back again and again.  And now you can have a chance to visit the Green Tomato Grill for free. 3. Their food is really yummy, that’s for sure!!! Plus it’s a fun place for us girls to go to lunch. People are really nice there, and you know your meal is going to be good. As far as your contest, I’d like to win, but I don’t tweet/twitter or any of those, so I’ll say…YUMMY for MY TUMMY! Thanks for sharing the Butternut Squash Soup it was sooooo good.

  4. I love broccoli:) Thwy are especially yummy with ranch or celery and cream cheese. I have a problem with making as healthy thing not as healthy lol

  5. I love me a good pita wrap! I stuff them as full as I can get without spilling food all over myself–turkey or grilled chicken, roasted tomatoes and onions, spinach, hummus, maybe a little cheese if I like. When they get toasted to just the right amount of hotness, they’re absolutely heavenly!

  6. I like cucumber, tomato and green papers with a vinegar dressing.

  7. I love acai bowls 🙂
