Disclaimer: I received a free 6 month trial to My Yoga Works in order to provide an honest review of this program. All opinions and photographs are my own.
Back in the 80’s, my mom was trying to find ways to spend more time with me. She suggested we take a yoga class at the YMCA; and my love affair with yoga began.
Through the years I’ve joined many a health club (with great intentions) to work out, lose weight, become healthier; signing up and attending all those classes was a workout in itself sometimes!
The last club I belonged to was definitely working out for me (pardon the pun), but it was because they had a Wednesday night yoga class. It was wonderful; I looked forward to going to class and spending 90 minutes slowly stretching, relaxing, breathing.
But then life stepped in, as it always does. I missed a couple classes, got tired, had other commitments come up–OK yes, I just made lots of excuses for not going to yoga. And after another 6 months of paying for the membership, finally came to terms with the idea that I was not going back.
So it was with great interest, when I received a request to review My Yoga Works. I’ve bought videos, and watched yoga on TV; but just couldn’t make the time work for my crazy schedule. Well, My Yoga Works has stepped in to change that for me.
My Yoga Works is an online yoga program, chock-full of instructional yoga videos ranging in length from 5 to 90 minutes, and from beginner level up to advanced. The great thing is that you can customize your yoga sessions to incorporate a variety of poses, focus and level of experience; or even just take in a quick “yoga break” while at work, on a road trip or while baby is napping.
Journey Series or Create Your Own
Once you’ve created your account, there are lots of ways you can use My Yoga Works. They have created a whole group of Journey Series’, where you can choose to learn new poses, target specific areas of your body, or even take a 5 minute desk break (I use that one almost every day when I’m at work!).
You can practice yoga moves at your desk, take Road Trip yoga classes, work on stability and balance, or even sneak in some Nap Time Yoga for Moms. In your personal account, you can create a list of your own favorites too; so you can easily build your own sessions the way you want to work out.
I’ve been using My Yoga Works for about a week now; and feel like it’s helping me to find more energy, relax, de-stress, and move my body more. I don’t have to change clothes, dress for working out or drive somewhere else to experience any of these things either.
Thanks to the folks at My Yoga Works, I’m able to offer you, my readers, a special gift too–one free month of My Yoga Works access!
Now you can log in anywhere and take a quick yoga break or a serious yoga workout any time!
Just sign up here, enter the coupon code “bloggermonth” when you subscribe and you’ll get 1 free month to try all of their instructive videos. Does this sound appealing to you? If you’ve never tried yoga, this would be a great introduction for you.
