Living Well Wednesday-March 14, 2012

Let me wish you a Happy Pi(e) Day today–3.14 for those math-challenged–or you can check with your local Polly’s Pies or Marie Callendar’s for their specials.  What a cute way to celebrate a non-holiday!

This has been a really busy week to-date; it doesn’t feel like I’ve accomplished a lot but when I look at the piles of things I’m working on–I guess I have!  There’s another bag of clothes and shoes to be donated that’s being filled up; plus most of the auction items I’m making for my up-coming Quarter Manias are finished.

This week I’m also going to begin a 2 month program with a group of BeautiControl consultants–we are all looking at expanding our respective teams; so I’m hoping to get a lot of great motivation, inspiration and ideas from them.

Health issues still seem to be plaguing my family right now; my parents are getting older and with that comes a variety of ailments, aches and pains.  Being 2 to 3 states away from them doesn’t make it any easier either.  I just hope that things will remain as good as they are now, for as long as possible.

Lastly, its hard to avoid the fact that Spring is right around the corner in Southern California (and elsewhere in the world too)!  My rose beds are becoming filled with sweet peas in the front yard and with aphids in the back.  I hope to attend a Monster Tomato and Pepper Sale this weekend–weather permitting–to get started on my vegetable garden  plans.

Have you been getting some plans together for your gardens?  Do you have some great resources you’d like to share?  I’d love to hear about them–so be sure to comment below.  And have a great week–See you next Wednesday!

  1. Lynsey Jones The Party Plan Coach says

Your parents continue to be in my prayers Diva. And ohhhh how I wish we were closer and could share vegetable seedlings! LOL

    • Thanks for the prayers (sometimes I think we all need them more than we realize!). Maybe one of these days, I’ll end up stopping by–who knows?!

  2. I wish I had time to clear out more! Sometimes I feel like I have so much junk around the house that I can’t find what I’m looking for. I am definitely looking forward to gardening this spring though; you’re sure right about making dinner from your own garden!

  3. I’ll definitely post some pics when I get some things planted. Right now my wisteria has resurrected itself very nicely (we thought the gardener had killed it!), and the roses are about to burst out into bloom. Maybe we could all do a recipe hop using ingredients from our garden, later this spring or summer when things have started to ripen?
I know between you & Lynsey, we could probably get a whole cookbook of recipes (especially desserts!)
