June is National Adopt a Cat Month

How are you celebrating Adopt a Shelter Cat Month? A portion of your purchase of every Fresh & Light Ultimate Care product will help support the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation’s animal advocacy workJune is National Adopt a Cat Month; and to start the month off right–I’m hosting a give away, thanks to Cat’s Pride and their Fresh & Light Ultimate Care Litter. With 3 cats in the fur-maly, you know I’m a power-buyer of cat litter; and I’m picky about which one I choose. After all, if the cats don’t like it–there’s a price to pay!

Cat’s Pride is excited to introduce consumers to our newest innovation in cat litter, Fresh & Light Ultimate Care. For 75 years, we’ve been committed to providing products that enrich the lives of cats and their owners,” said Dan Jaffee, president and CEO of Oil-Dri, the makers of Cat’s Pride. “We are proud to partner with Katherine Heigl and the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation as they work to end the needless suffering of animals.”Katherine Heigl & Cat's Pride have teamed up to help shelter cats

Cat’s Pride® has teamed up with actress Katherine Heigl and is donating a portion of the proceeds of every purchase of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care to the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, an animal advocacy organization Katherine founded in her brother’s memory.

“We created the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation to continue to spread Jason’s love of animals,” said Katherine Heigl, CEO of The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation™. “We are thrilled to partner with Cat’s Pride® in our efforts to truly make a difference for animals.”

Adopt a Cat, Save a Life

Local shelters are full of cats and kittens just waiting for their fur-ever home. I don’t even like to think about how many don’t get that chance. If you’re looking for a cat of your own, I hope you’ll consider adopting a shelter cat; the American Humane Society even has a checklist for you, so you and your home will be ready to bring home your fur-baby (however old they may be).

June is National Adopt a Cat Month; celebrate and bring home your own furry bundle of joy!If you already have a cat, then you know that most cats tend to be clean when it comes to their litter box habits.

If you find that they’re not using the litter box regularly, a change in  your litter could make a world of difference for your kitty.

If your cat is still slow to use the box, try these suggestions from Cat’s Pride:

  • if there’s a lid on the litter box, take it off
  • if you’re using a thin layer of litter, try giving them more to work with
  • or if the box is inconvenient to get to, try moving it to where your cat may feel more comfortable taking care of business

Sometimes a little encouragement is all your cat may be looking for! You can find more info on cat care and adoption tips here too.
