Dream Dinners helps you make a meal

Ann About Town was invited to try Dream Dinners in Tustin; preparing the ingredients for 3 meals, which I brought home to cook and eat later. Please note that all photographs and opinions are my own.

Years ago, I saw a Dream Dinners store in the strip mall near my house and I had one of those “I’ll have to try that” thoughts. I never followed through then, so I was excited to join my friends in Tustin for a girls-night-out a few weeks ago to learn how Dream Dinners works.

Dream Dinners started with the idea of bringing families together around the dinner table. Created by working mothers Stephanie Allen and Tina Kuna, it evolved from the homegrown practice Stephanie used, of making fix-and-freeze meals for her family, into the thriving national brand it is today.

Our Dream Dinners Girls Night OutDream Dinners in a Nutshell

Everything is out and ready to put together at your Dream Dinners appointmentFirst, choose the store you’re going to visit (over 80 locations across the United States), and create your account there. Then choose the time to come in, and finally the menu items you want to make.

There is a minimum number of servings you must order and each main course comes in 3 or 6 serving options. But right now there’s an introductory offer of 18 servings (you choose the meals) for only $74.95.

I receive special offers from Dream Dinners frequently and will probably be back to take advantage of the specials they have, as well as use some of my Plate Points I’ve accrued.

When you arrive for your Dream Dinners appointment, all of the ingredients you need to create a delicious main course, side dish and/or dessert are right there for you to build.

After you’ve finished putting together each package, they are stored in a refrigerator until you’re ready to leave. That way when you get home, you’ll have a large zip lock bag that goes in the freezer for each dish.

It has everything you need in each baggie, (including instructions and side dish suggestions) to make a delicious home-cooked meal.

Our Girl’s Night Out at Dream Dinners Tustin

I met up with Desiree Eaglin (from The Funny Mom Blog), Mary Tran (of Let’s Play OC) and Jenn Willey (of Balancing the Chaos) for our Dream Dinners prep night; but there was a surprise there for us.

All four of us had chosen Chateau Chicken with Almond Butter Sauce for one of our meals–and our hosts prepared a surprise tasting for us, along with green beans, roasted potatoes, a delicious pasta salad and a yummy slice of cheesecake. Delicious!

Our Dream Dinners Tasting was delicious! The other entrees I picked were the Santa Fe Shredded Pork Burritos and Chicken Bacon Ranch Stuffed French Bread. All the ingredients were set out for measuring and we put everything into our zip lock baggies as we moved down the “assembly line.” The smaller baggies were all placed into one larger zip lock bag, along with a recipe card with detailed instructions and suggested side dishes, to go in my freezer at home until I was ready to cook.

Dream Dinners at Home

Dream Dinners packs so much taste into a very easy to prepare dish! When it came time to make my Dream Dinner meals at home, it couldn’t have been easier. Pull one out of the freezer, check the instructions for thawing and cooking, make a salad or side dish to go with it and voila!

Dinner is served!

When I cooked my Chateau Chicken, I made the same side dishes as we had at our Dream Dinners night in Tustin–green beans and roasted potatoes. It was so good!

When I made the Santa Fe Shredded Pork Burritos, we made Spanish rice and a green salad. I think this was my favorite!

My Chicken Bacon Ranch Stuffed French Bread was so big, we had it for lunch one day & dinner the next night!
