Dining at The Beach House on Lovers Point

As part of the #LLBlogNotaConf FAM trip, Ann About Town was invited to dine at Beach House Lovers Point, in Pacific Grove, CA. Please note that all photos and opinions are my own.

If you’re like me, when you go on vacation or are out of town for an event–a nice dinner out is not really a luxury; it’s more of a bucket-list item. And when you’re “Central Coasting,” as I was able to do last Spring, the choices for dining seem endless.

The spot I’m going to introduce you to today though, is one of my favorites! It combines gorgeous beach and sunset views with delicious food; all served up by a great staff–and making for a memorable dining experience.

Beach House Lovers Point ViewThe Beach House Lovers Point

Lovers Point Beach has been a popular spot for over 100 years. With gorgeous vistas, walking paths and a lovely beach, what could be better? What about a great place to grab a drink or bite to eat with friends?

Beach House at Lovers Point fills the bill here; providing a variety of food and drinks, including “Sunset Specials,” that should satisfy almost everyone’s tastebuds.

The nice thing about dining with a group of friends is that we each ordered something different, so I was able to try several different dishes when our group dined here.

Dinner at The Beach House

Our server started us off with delicious, hot bread and their Firecracker Shrimp appetizer-crispy shrimp tossed in a spicy, sweet Thai aioli (not too spicy, not too sweet; just right!).

Grilled Sirloin, Scampi Shrimp and Fries from the Beach House Lovers PointWith 6 of us for dinner, we were able to sample a good portion of the menu at Beach House Lovers Point. Our entrees included Hazelnut-Crusted Sand Dabs with charred Brussels sprouts (see below); a thick and meaty cider-glazed pork chop, with crispy marble potatoes and bacon-creamed spinach;Grilled Porkchop with potatoes and bacon-creamed spinach from Beach House Lovers Point Farmer’s Seafood Pasta, filled with salmon, scallops, clams and grilled prawns; a thick, juicy center-cut sirloin with grilled prawns scampi (see above); a moist and tender roast half chicken with green beans, butternut squash, almond and cranberry wild rice pilaf;Beach House dinner in Pacific Grove, CA and a to-die-for cut of filet mignon with greens.

Hazelnut-crusted Sand Dabs from Beach House Lovers PointTo be perfectly honest, I don’t know which dish was the best (OK maybe the filet mignon); but I had the Sand Dabs and would not hesitate to order this dish again! Then again, that pork chop looked so yummy; as did the steaks.

Do I have to pick just one entree?

Don’t Forget Dessert!

Great selection of desserts at Beach House Lovers PointThe dessert menu is short; but again, covers just about anything you might crave. I cannot pass up a good creme brulee, and the Grand Marnier Creme Brulee at the Beach House is something special. The Mud Pie was good too; and big enough for all of us to share (see these both above)!
