Eating healthy is the catch-phrase of the day; and Del Taco is on the front of that bandwagon with their fresh, healthy and tasty fast food options. The newest offering from Del Taco is the Turkey Taco and the Turkey Crunchtada. I was provided with a gift card, in order to visit my local Del Taco and taste them for myself; all opinions are my own.
We (my co-workers and I) try to go out to lunch a couple of times a week; it’s nice to get out of the office, see some sunshine and have a nice meal together. Unfortunately, the location of our office makes our choices limited to a few fast food options, usually dictated by our finances.
When we choose to go to Del Taco, which happens more and more frequently, we find a great variety of choices–healthy, tasty choices; and it doesn’t hurt that our local Del Taco feels more welcoming than some of the other local joints.
One thing that’s really neat about Del Taco, is that when you order your food in the restaurant, you can watch as they make it–fresh! The variety of their menu, from fish tacos to burgers and fries, makes Del Taco a great place to eat too. Now that they’ve added turkey to their menu, I think it’s sure to be a hit!
The Turkey Taco Meal is a great deal, and a great way to try their turkey tacos–especially since it’s only $5! I ordered a crunchy and a soft taco, along with chips, fresh pico de gallo salsa and a drink.
Since turkey is not my first thought when it comes to tacos, I wasn’t sure how this would taste; let me just say–delicious. The ground turkey was moist and flavorful, and I’m guessing that if you didn’t tell someone it had 30% less fat, they’d never guess.
My favorite was the soft taco. I feel like the soft tortilla has just a little sweetness to it, which blended in well with the ground turkey meat, sauce, cheese, lettuce and tomato. My coworker even tasted it, which surprised me because she usually sticks to beef; and she liked it too. I also ordered a Crunchtada, but unfortunately forgot to ask for a turkey one. It was delicious just the same; but next time I will be sure to specify.
Have you tried them yet? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.
